Filled with amazing architecture, unforgettable memories and amazing stories, Macy's on State Street keeps visitors compelled hour after hour. Today, the State Street Visitor Center has made it easier to share the story of the world's second largest department store with an audio tour that takes visitors throughout the store floor-by-floor, story-by-story.
From the historic Walnut Room with the Great Tree (during Holiday) to the glistening Tiffany Ceiling, the audio tour takes visitors step by step throughout the store with the help of a store map and convenient guidebook. Each stop along the way allows visitors to learn more about the many great traditions and in-store attractions told by those that lived them. With narration by Chicago native Bill Kurtis and anecdotes told by former and current State Street associates, this tour also provides an orientation to your shopping excursion.
The tour allows everyone to learn more about Field's legacy, without having to race after a tour guide. Feel free to stop and shop or grab a bite while taking the tour, this hand-held tour guide allows visitors to absorb the history at their own pace and based on their personal interests.
The audio tour is available at the Visitor's Center located on the 7th floor during store hours. This tour is complimentary, inviting groups and individuals to learn more about all the magical features of the State Street store that make it the world's most amazing department store.
